The latest update of Text Web, version 1.2, is now available as an update in the iTunes App Store! This update adds iOS 5 support and iPad support plus anchor link functionality, three new color schemes, and updates to the way the app scrolls through pages. Please see the Text Web Help page if you have any problems with the update.
Having released this somewhat minor update, we’ll be returning to work on a more complete overhaul of Text Web — originally built in 2009 — to offer better performance in this reader-oriented text-only web browser. We expect to release a thorough revamp of Text Web in Fall 2012.Full post

We’re launching some recent additions to the Bubbly Crowdsourcing Platform this week, including Bubbly Reports, a Bubbly-specific plugin that allows you to export detailed user reports and see real-time imaging based on the activity on your Bubbly site. Other additions include the ability to attach images to your comments and an improved shortcode system that allows administrators to display Bubbly entries by tag and category.
These features are rolling out to all Bubbly hosted clients in the coming week. We hope you enjoy them and would love to hear any feedback you have. Thanks!Full post
Help us launch an open source small cities crowdsourcing platform! We began planning the the Bubbly Crowdsourcing Platform in 2009 — since then, we’ve seen several successful, Bubbly-powered campaigns roll out to revitalize downtowns in visionary small cities like Bristol, Connecticut and Roanoke, Virginia.
Now the Bubbly team, in collaboration with the Small Cities Movement, wants to take small town crowdsourcing to the next level by launching a platform designed specifically for use by small cities’ downtown revitalization projects. Supporters get access to set up hosted and professionally maintained crowdsourcing websites using the new platform and can join the Small Cities Movement Hall of Fame for leaders in the small cities movement.Full post
Fab Apps has posted a free new WordPress plugin that offers a simple solution to a small problem in WordPress 3.2 and 3.3. In these new versions, the top “admin bar” is shown on the public site by default for all users. This has been inconvenient on some of the sites we manage, where the WordPress admin area is otherwise “behind the scenes” for some logged in users, or where the top admin bar is incompatible with the site’s layout.Full post
